Our Selection of Rums and Spirits:

Bushtucker Spiced

The Bushtucker Spiced Spirit is the first of the range, made from distilled spices that we hand-spice ourselves – a process that brings out the true flavours of the spices while slowly blending them together to bring a well-rounded taste to this dark rum.

Spiced Spirits

1808 Barely Legal

The fruitier one of the three, the 1808 Barely Legal spirit is great on ice, with a soda or with a fruit juice mixer. This spirit is double distilled, bringing a greater level of flavour and depth.

Distillers Cut

The more sophisticated one, the Distillers Cut promises a smooth and distinct taste that you’ll be wanting to savour every drop of. Aged for a minimum of two years in Ex-Red, French Oak casks (barrels), this is a great staple for anyone’s bar.

Here are some great ideas for our rum mixers

Club Soda

Simple and affordable, mixing club soda or soda water with our rums and spirits is a great way to let the true flavours sing. Though not for the faint-hearted, a glass of ice and soda with a dash of our 1808 Barely Legal may be all you would ever want in a drink.

Add a lime or lemon wedge to top things off if you’re feeling fancy.

You can’t go wrong with something as classic as a cold and refreshing Cola. Add a dash of our 1808 Barely Legal to a glass of ice and cola to elevate things. Once again, add a lime or lemon wedge if you wish (or lime juice as a last-minute option).

Fruit Juices

Fans of fruity-tasting drinks? Fruit juices as rum mixers might be what you are after. Orange juice, grapefruit juice or pineapple juice are great to start with as they are refreshing and friendly to most taste palates. Pour your desired amount of 1808 Barely Legal (or Bushtucker Spiced spirit if you’re into a more spicy version) in any fruit juice over ice. These tropical drinks are perfect for those hot summer days when you’re looking to just chill by the pool with a delicious fruity alcoholic drink.

Top your drink with extra fresh fruit, such as orange, lemon or lime slices to impress.

Coconut Milk or Cream

Want more of the tropical feel? A piña colada or a coconut rum punch may be the drink for you.

Piña Colada

For a delicious Piña colada, add equal portions of pineapple and mango juice over ice and mix in our 1808 Barely Legal and coconut milk (or cream) to taste.

Coconut Rum Punch

Fill a cocktail shaker with pineapple juice and ice, pour your desired amount of 1808 Barely Legal and coconut cream to taste and shake!

If you don’t own a cocktail shaker, use a well-sealed travel mug, container or mason jar instead for your rum mixers. Strain your cocktail out of your alternative shaker using whatever strainer you have on hand at home.

Ginger Beer

A great pairing with our spirits, such as our Bushtucker Spiced Spirit is the good old ginger beer. Add a dash of it to a glass of ice, ginger beer and simple syrup to taste. Add a squeezed lime wedge and top with three drops of bitters for a best spiced version of the Dark n Stormy cocktail.

Spiced Apple Cider

If you prefer the autumn/wintery spin to drinks, try out a warm or cold version of the spiced apple cider.

To make a cold version, add our Bushtucker Spiced Spirit to a glass of apple cider with some lemon juice and pour over ice – topped up with cinnamon sticks and sliced apples. A refreshing drink with a bite and some sweetness, this is one that is sure to satisfy.

To make a warm version, melt some unsalted butter and dark brown sugar with some cinnamon and nutmeg, slowly adding it to your pot of apple cider. Add a shot of the Bushtucker Spiced Spirit to each drink you serve for a good time.

Hot Chocolate

What might seem like an odd thing to mix Australian rum or spirits with, hot chocolate is a great mixer with our Distillers Cut.

The buttery sweetness from the dark brown sugar in our Distillers Cut will add depth and warmth to your hot chocolate – perfect for those colder nights in front of the fire.

Hot Buttered Rum

What do you do when hot chocolate isn’t quite sweet enough for you? You make a hot buttered rum by mixing our Bushtucker Spiced Spirits to a melted batch of:

  • unsalted butter
  • brown sugar
  • ground cinnamon to taste
  • half a pinch of ground nutmeg

The combination of the spiced spirit with the richness of butter and brown sugar is sure to satisfy the sweetest of cravings.

Ice Cream

What’s a better way to end off a night than by having ice cream? Make a simple rum and Cola spider by first pouring your desired amount of Bushtucker Spiced Spirit in a glass and topping it with cola and however many scoops of ice cream your heart so desires.

Rum and raisin ice cream is another great way to incorporate our Bushtucker Spiced Spirits into a dessert. Leave some raisins to soak in a cup of the spirits either overnight or gently cook some raisins in rum until they appear plump. Mix the raisins into your favourite ice cream and serve.
